2020 Spring Registration (January thru May)

Welcome to Capo Girls Softball Spring 2020 Registration!

Update: We are nearing capacity at 6U & 10U and can likely accomodate a few more in 8U & 12U. Please join the waitlist and we will provide a status update within 24 hours. If your player is on the waitlist, please procede as if they are registered and attend the evaluations on January 11th.

The spring season is the primary softball season and it is held from January through May, with practices starting late January. Girls ages 4.5-14 of all skill levels are encouraged to register. Team selections are made in January and Opening Day & first game is February 8th, 2020 (subject to weather and field availability). Capo Girls Softball holds several training clinics throughout preseason and the regular season to strengthen players' skills.

All girls are welcomed from Coto de Caza, Essencia, Dove Canyon, Foothill Ranch, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores, Laguna Niguel, Rancho Santa Margarita, Trabuco Canyon, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Rancho Mission Viejo, Wagon Wheel, San Clemente, Sendero, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and the surrounding communities in south Orange County.

The online registration process will take about 10 minutes to complete. All information collected during the registration process is held in strict confidence and is not shared with anyone except for the relevant parties within the Capo Girls Softball league office.

REGISTRATION FEES:

Early bird fees prior to 11/30:

6 and under (6U): $75

8U through 14U: $225

 

After 12/02:

6 and under (6U): $100

8U through 14U: $250

Registration ends at 5pm on January 10th, 2020. Any registrations after this date are subject to a waitlist.

 

**IMPORTANT** All online registrations will require payment prior to your registration being complete. If you do not pay at the end of the registration process, your registration will be put on a waitlist until payment is made.

 

AGE DIVISION GUIDELINE

Your daughter's league age for the 2020 season is her age on 01/01/2020. If a player request to "play up" into a higher division, a formal request must be made to the league in writing.

* Based on the players individual ability, a player may start 6U at a younger age than what is indicated.

 

EVALUATIONS

January 11th, 2020 (subject to weather and field availability)

Divisions for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U will attend required evaluations prior to the beginning of the season. Please make sure your player knows that the evaluations are nothing to be nervous about. They simply allow the league to ensure each team is drafted and balanced.

SPRING SELECT: ALL DATES AND INFORMATION ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BY USA SOFTBALL FOR 2020

The Spring Select program is considered a highly competitive program. Spring Select is for girls that have been selected by a Spring Select coach to play on a Spring Select Team in addition to their Spring Season recreational, or rec team. While rec teams play games on an occasional weekday and every Saturday against other Capo teams, the Spring Select teams ALSO play double-headers on Sunday against other Select teams in the surrounding Orange County area.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SPRING SELECT

TIMING: Spring Select is approximately 6 weeks, with double-headers on Sundays only, lasting from approximately early to mid-February to end of March.

ELIGIBILITY: Spring Select teams are ONLY for the 10U, 12U and 14U divisions. Only players registered for the Spring rec season can be considered for Spring Select.

SELECTION PROCESS: Coaches will select girls from the pool of registered Spring season rec players. Typically, players that are selected to play on Spring Select have advanced skills and extensive softball experience. There are a limited number of Spring Select teams, so the number of girls selected is limited. However, all girls are placed on a rec team regardless of skills or experience.

COST: Approximately $50, in addition to the rec team registration cost. This additional cost is used to pay for the umpire fees at the double-header games played on Sundays.

IMPORTANT NOTES: If you check the box indicating that you want your daughter to be considered for a Spring Select team AND she is chosen by a coach, she must play on the team for which she is chosen, or she will not be permitted to play Spring Select.

Note 1: Checking the box to indicate interest in playing on a Spring Select team does not in any way guarantee placement on a Spring Select team. Team selection is at the discretion of the coach for that team.

Note 2: Team rosters are subject to Board of Director approval.

Note 3: Playing on a Spring Select team does not in any way guarantee placement on an All-Star team.
